Executive Chef Carlos D. Quinn

Born in Memphis, TN., Carlos D. Quinn started in the Hospitality industry when he was just 14 years old, working for a prominent catering company in Memphis. Upon his graduation from Memphis Catholic High School, Carlos chose to further his education at State Technical Institute of Memphis, later earning degrees in Food & Beverage Management and Culinary Art. Chef Quinn then changed his career track, entering the Hotel & Lodging Industry working for the Adam’s Mark Hotel & Conference Center in east Memphis. He quickly progressed from prep cook to Lead line cook for the signature Italian Bravo Restaurant.

Chef Quinn received an opportunity to work at the Historic Peabody Hotel Group of Memphis as a Sous Chef for Dux’s Restaurant where he was exposed to high profile clientele. After obtaining considerable knowledge and experience in his positions at both hotels, Quinn decided to expand his horizons and education, attending Johnson & Wales University in Miami, FL. During this period, he also worked at some of the most elite hotel organizations in the US including the Ritz’s Carlton, Key Biscayne, and Loew’s Hotel on South Beach. These experiences exposed Quinn to a wide array of cuisine and levels of the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Following graduation, Chef Quinn was called back to Memphis to help open the Italian bistro Capriccio in the Peabody Hotel. Chef Quinn next became Executive Chef for the Tower Room American Grille, a fine dining establishment on the 33rd floor of a corporate office complex. This position required Quinn to produce large prestigious events, monthly wine dinners and wine tastings. Chef Quinn decided to return to the hotel & lodging industry accepting positions at hotels including the Doubletree Hotel Group and Holiday Inn Select (IHG).

Chef Quinn has, for the past three, years taught Culinary Arts at Southwest Tennessee Community College at Memphis. Chef Quinn has also appeared on the Food Network Show and is a member of the American Culinary Federation the (ACF). His inspiration is his son, wife, and family.
